[Solution] The present invention includes: a coolant system start up step for circulating ethane-free coolant in an external coolant system; a raw material gas pretreatment step for supplying to LNG production facility natural gas which is a raw material; a cooling step for cooling the natural gas supplied from the raw material gas pretreatment step to a prescribed temperature using the coolant, to liquefy and separate the heavy component; a heavy component separation step for separating the heavy component from the natural gas cooled in the cooling step; a coolant production step for producing, from the heavy component separated from the natural gas in the heavy component separation step, a coolant component which includes ethane; and a coolant supply step for supplying to the external coolant system the coolant component which contains ethane and which was produced in the coolant production step.
