Our commitment to being close to you

For over two decades, OAPI has been committed to creating and developing Intellectual Property Documentation Centers (IPDCs) to bring its services closer to users in each member state. These centers are an essential component of our territorial strategy and our mission to promote intellectual property in member states.

Mission and target audience

The fundamental mission of the CDPIs is to disseminate information on intellectual property to several user groups:

Inventors and researchers: Access to the state of the art in their fields of innovation
Economic operators: Identification of appropriate technologies through patents issued by OAPI
Businesses and artisans: Monitoring trends and competitive positioning
Academic environment: Documentary resources for academic work and research

Services offered

The construction and commissioning of the CDPIs in our member states illustrates OAPI's commitment to providing effective tools for the dissemination of scientific and technical information. Each center offers:

Specialized documentation based on several million documents
Access to the databases of industrial property titles issued by OAPI (patents, trademarks, industrial designs and models, trade names)
The Organization's official publications and texts (legal framework, Official Bulletin of Intellectual Property, patent booklets, practical guides)
Personalized support for documentary research
A technology monitoring service to anticipate sectoral developments
