About the OAPI

The African Intellectual Property Organization (OAPI) is positioned as a major regional office covering 17 Member States divided into West Africa, Central Africa and the Indian Ocean. Its legal framework, the Bangui agreement, establishes a centralized procedure for the management of industrial property securities, in particular brands, patents, industrial drawings and models, as well as geographic indications.
