Geographical Indications (GI)

A Geographical Indication (GI) is an intellectual property right that protects and promotes traditional and local products. It is one of the objects covered by Annex VI of the Bangui Agreement, the uniform legislation that serves as national law in the member states of the African Intellectual Property Organization (OAPI).
