Filing a patent application
Obtaining a patent requires submitting an application that meets all the eligibility requirements. This application essentially consists of:
The rights conferred by the patent are maintained by the payment of annual fees on the anniversary of the filing date.
However, the patent holder has a six-month grace period to make a valid payment of their annual fee.
In this case, they must also pay an additional fee as set out in the regulations.
