  • Intellectual property training: OAPI welcomes its 15th promotion

The African Intellectual Property Organization (OAPI) celebrated the launch of the 15th promotion of its Master Program in Intellectual Property on Friday, January 24, 2025. This ceremony took place at the headquarters of the organization under the chairmanship of Mr. Nicéphore Fylla de Saint-Eudes, Congolese Minister for Industrial Development and Promotion of the Private Sector and President of the OAPI Board of Directors. The event marked two highlights: the reception of 39 new listeners from 15 African countries and the official installation of the scientific committee of the Denis Ekani (apide) intellectual property academy. This committee brings together recognized experts in the field of intellectual property, including Professor Joseph Fometeu of the University of Ngaoundéré and Dr. Yvon Laurier Ngombe, lawyer at the Paris Court of Appeal. The ceremony brought together leading personalities, notably the director general of the OAPI, representatives of the OMPI and the Embassy of Japan in Cameroon, the representative of the Minister of State, Minister of Higher Education of Cameroon, as well as members of the diplomatic corps of the member states of the OAPI. This new promotion testifies to OAPI's continuous commitment in the training of intellectual property experts to meet the growing needs of the African continent.
