  • OAPI-RAMPI: a common provision for greater expertise in intellectual property rights

On March 20, 2025, OAPI and the Network of Magistrates of Intellectual Property (RAMPI) signed a partnership agreement to formalize a framework for collaboration conducive to better application of intellectual property rights in OAPI member states.

Following a series of meetings and discussions over several months, led by OAPI Director General Denis BOHOUSSOU and RAMPI President Max-Lambert NDEMA ELONGUE , the memorandum of understanding was signed during an official ceremony at the Organization's headquarters.

The agreement between the two institutions aims to establish a common platform for member states, promoting the strengthening of the capacities of judicial actors in handling litigation related to infringements of Intellectual Property rights.

For the Director General, it is important to have within the space magistrates specializing in IP to manage often complex legal issues, and to do so OAPI will provide the necessary support for the accomplishment of this mission, he stressed.
