From May 13 to 15, 2025 , the African Intellectual Property Organization (OAPI) marked its presence at the prestigious 50th General Assembly of SCAPR (International Confederation of Societies of Authors and Composers), which was held in the Slovenian capital, Ljubljana.
This participation is part of OAPI's international outreach strategy and demonstrates its commitment to placing Africa at the heart of global debates on intellectual property and copyright management.
The OAPI delegation was led by Mr. Mondésir Oualou Panouala, Deputy Director General , who had the honor of presenting to this international assembly the Organization's vision and achievements in the field of intellectual property.
His noteworthy intervention highlighted OAPI's innovative strategy to make intellectual property a real lever for economic and cultural development in its 17 member states, as well as the arsenal of specific mechanisms deployed to support creators, inventors and artists on the African continent.

Concrete support provided to African inventors through innovative innovation financing mechanisms, enabling the transformation of creative ideas into economically viable projects.

OAPI's massive commitment to raising awareness and providing training on intellectual property, with programs tailored to local realities and the specific needs of African stakeholders.
? Literary and artistic property
Significant advances in the field of literary and artistic property, including the historic adoption of the 2015 Bangui Treaty Act and the active promotion of collective copyright management.
