  • The OAPI illustrates managerial excellence: an enriching outing in Equatorial Guinea which combines Team Building and Institutional Mission

From May 29 to June 1, 2025, OAPI staff went to Equatorial Guinea for an innovative tourist outing which perfectly combined team cohesion, relaxation and awareness of intellectual property.

A deliberately innovative approach as the Director General pointed out during his Bata speech, "by associating tourist relaxation and specialized training, we wanted to create a framework conducive to authentic exchanges".

The OAPI delegation, led by its managing director Denis Bohoussou, benefited from an exceptional reception of the Equato-Guinean authorities.

On Friday, May 30, 2025, the OAPI team organized a workshop on the theme "How to use the brand and the patent to create wealth?" This session, organized in partnership with Professor Anacleto Olo Mibuy, president of the CICTE and administrator of OAPI for Equatorial Guinea, brought together the high local authorities (mayor of the city, governor of the province). The workshop mobilized a wide range of economic players: business leaders, SME managers, researchers, academics, inventors, innovators, craftsmen. This diversity testifies to the potential impact of the initiative on the equato-Guinean entrepreneurial ecosystem.

A balanced program between cultural discovery and relaxation

Wealth of cultural heritage

  • Visit of the Immaculate Design Basilica in Mongomo

  • Discovery of the monument of heads of state

  • Exploration of architectural treasures in the region

Privileged moments of cohesion

  • Federating sports activities

  • Group walks promoting informal exchanges

  • Sharing meals in a friendly atmosphere

This recreational outing in Equatorial Guinea largely transcends the framework of a simple team building activity. It illustrates a managerial vision where investment in human capital becomes the base of sustainable organizational performance.

By intelligently combining relaxation, team cohesion, and training, the OAPI shows that it is not content to be a pole of excellence in the protection of intellectual property, but that it also aspires to become a model of managerial excellence.
