  • OAPI exemplifies managerial excellence: an enriching trip to Equatorial Guinea that combines team building and institutional mission

From May 29 to June 1, 2025, OAPI staff traveled to Equatorial Guinea for an innovative tourist outing that perfectly combined team cohesion, relaxation and awareness of intellectual property.

A deliberately innovative approach, as highlighted by the Director General during his speech in Bata, "by combining tourist relaxation and specialized training, we wanted to create an environment conducive to authentic exchanges.".

The OAPI delegation, led by its Director General Denis BOHOUSSOU, received an exceptional welcome from the Equatorial Guinean authorities.

On Friday, May 30, 2025, the OAPI team organized a workshop on the theme "How to Use Trademarks and Patents to Create Wealth?" This session, organized in partnership with Professor Anacleto OLO MIBUY, President of CICTE and OAPI Administrator for Equatorial Guinea, brought together high-ranking local officials (the mayor of the city and the governor of the province). The workshop engaged a wide range of economic stakeholders: business leaders, SME managers, researchers, academics, inventors, innovators, and artisans. This diversity demonstrates the potential impact of the initiative on the Equatorial Guinean entrepreneurial ecosystem.

A balanced program combining cultural discovery and relaxation

Richness of cultural heritage

  • Visit to the Basilica of the Immaculate Conception in Mongomo

  • Discovery of the monument to heads of state

  • Exploring the region's architectural treasures

Special moments of cohesion

  • Unifying sporting activities

  • Group walks that encourage informal exchanges

  • Sharing meals in a friendly atmosphere

This recreational outing to Equatorial Guinea goes far beyond a simple team-building activity. It illustrates a managerial vision where investment in human capital becomes the foundation of sustainable organizational performance.

By intelligently combining relaxation, team cohesion, and training, OAPI demonstrates that it is not content to be a center of excellence in the protection of intellectual property, but that it also aspires to become a model of managerial excellence.
