  • MBOTE BRAZZAVILLE: the caravan that brings Intellectual Property closer to citizens

On the sidelines of the 65th session of the Governing Body, the African Intellectual Property Organization (OAPI) is innovating with a grassroots initiative: MBOTE BRAZZAVILLE , an urban caravan that arrives in the emblematic districts of the Congolese capital to directly raise awareness among the population about the strategic value of Intellectual Property (IP) in their activities and daily lives.

Why MBOTE BRAZZAVILLE?

Intellectual property (IP) is a key driver of creativity, innovation, and economic development in our communities. Yet, it often remains poorly understood by the general public. With this caravan, the African Intellectual Property Organization (OAPI) aims to demystify IP, make it more accessible, and encourage everyone to turn their ideas into creations, protect them against misappropriation, and transform them into real economic opportunities.

🚐Because innovation begins in our streets, from December 5th to 10th, 2025, the caravan will travel through the main thoroughfares of Brazzaville, offering a dynamic program for learning while having fun with:

🎭 Interactive animations: sketches, quizzes, mini creative challenges;

📚 Simple and practical teaching materials

😂 A comedian and actors for a friendly moment;

👩‍💼 OAPI advisors are available to inform, explain and answer various concerns.

Objective

Through this initiative to disseminate information and integrate IP culture in OAPI member states, the objective is to popularize concepts, awaken curiosity, stimulate creativity and promote the appropriation of protection tools by the population.
