  • Regional competition for Industrial Property Consultants: the tests are launched in Benin

The 2026 session of the competition for the title of Industrial Property Consultant took place at the National School of Administration (ENA) of the University of Abomey-Calavi, in the Republic of Benin.

Scheduled from May 13 to 15, this competition organized by OAPI brought together 95 candidates from the 17 member states, including seventy-seven (77) French-speaking and sixteen (16) English-speaking, who were subjected to the various written and oral tests.

The start of the competitions took place during a launch ceremony attended by a delegation from OAPI led by Deputy Director General Mondésir OUALOU PANOUALA, alongside the authorities of ENA headed by the Director of the establishment.

The ceremony was marked by speeches that highlighted the importance of strengthening industrial property skills within the OAPI area.

Prior to the exam, a series of two intensive preparatory courses for candidates was organized on May 4th and 9th, and then on May 11th and 12th, to better prepare them for the exam's requirements. This regional exam is a crucial step in providing member states with qualified professionals to support economic and institutional stakeholders in the protection, management, and development of industrial property assets.
